Crenshaw/Lax Aviation Station Update

The Metro Board of Directors recently approved a new light rail station at Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street along the Crenshaw/LAX Line. Metro must environmentally clear the station first, design it and identify the funding before anything gets built. Acceleration of current funding is currently undergoing evaluation.



The new station, however, is slated to be an iconic gateway to the airport. A motion from Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and several other board members calls for a station with all the bells and whistles. The motion states that this new facility should exceed the needs of the traveling public with amenities such as flight information boards and a place for airline check-ins, as well as bathrooms, WiFi service, cell phone charging areas, a drop-off area for cars and taxis, a bike hub, retail, public art, ATMs, LA and
