Right now there is a revolution happening in the business-to-business marketplace.  We are experiencing a profound number of opportunities for small business owners who are ready to expand, grow and compete in the global economy.

In a global survey 83% of executives said they are planning to use significantly more outside experts.  These large companies have begun to spend billions of dollars with small business owners who have the capacity to service their needs.

This year alone it is estimated that over $36.4 billion will be spent with outside experts for training, coaching and other employee development goods and services.

As these companies have opened their door to small business owners to fill the gap and meet many of their business and supply needs, many of them have also taken steps to make it easier to identify and connect with qualified small business owners by using women or minority owned business certification as a third party qualifier.

Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and/or Women Business Enterprises (WBE) certification is just one of the many tools a business may use as part of its overall marketing strategy. When maximized your MBE or WBE certification can bring your business more visibility within your industry and position you as the best solution to your ideal prospects.

It is important to understand that small business certification is not a guarantee or an entitlement to contracts, bids or procurement opportunities. In order to win new business with a certification, each business owner must conduct research specific to their business and industry, identify appropriate opportunities, build relationships with procurement representatives, be patient but also ready when the ideal opportunity arises.
